Navajo LGBTQIA+ Charter Mark
Southport and Formby Health are very proud to have been awarded the Navajo Charter Mark in October 2022.
What is the Navajo Merseyside Charter Mark?
Navajo is an equality charter mark supported by the LGBTIQA+ community networks across Merseyside and Cheshire. The mark signifies good practice, commitment and knowledge of the specific needs, issues and barriers facing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Merseyside.
Southport and Formby Health were assessed by Navajo throughout August 2022. The application is designed to assess organisations in terms of LGBTIQA+ friendliness. Navajo identifies organisations that are actively involved or are committed to developing appropriate services to address the needs of the LGBTIQA+ community.
The five distinct areas covered by the application process are:
- Practices and Policies
- Training
- Staff Recruitment & Engagement
- Monitoring
- Service Users and LGBTIQA+ Engagement
Achieving the Navajo Charter Mark means that Southport and Formby Health have demonstrated that it:
